Mike and M.COR Building Contractors did a spectacular job remodeling my home! It's absolutely beautiful! It was built in 1997 and no updating had ever been done. It was truly the most boring house on the block! I needed a total remodel inside, sprucing up the exterior, and a bonus room above the 3 car garage.
The brainstorming began before I moved to Michigan. Mike communicated very effectively by computer and phone. I never had to chase him down. He was very proactive. He designed detailed computer generated 2-D drawings of the bonus room interior and exterior which he emailed me. He designed dormers and used shakes which the neighbors all really loved!
Mike gathered a team of true professionals to help tackle this job. They were sociable, trustworthy, and dressed neatly. Mike as well as all of the sub-contractors were all "can do" guys. They listened to all of my ideas and thoroughly explained my options. They gave excellent professional advice. I enjoyed working with them all. Mike did a great job of scheduling the sub-contractors and keeping things progressing.
The only thing that wasn't touched during remodeling was the laundry room floor. I wanted crown modeling throughout the house and more substantial baseboard. The windows and sashes needed to be bigger and more substantial. I wanted everything re-done in the kitchen except removal of the cupboards. I wanted the hole in the wall which was the fireplace to be the focal point of the main floor. There was an unnatural distance between where one would stand at the top of the stairs and the beginning of the handrail. Mike had a solution for everything!
After I saw how beautiful remodeling was turning out, I decided to add to the project. He didn't put me off and worked twice as hard to finish my house as well as the other jobs he had previously committed to during my job. I had a deadline of being able to live in the house by Labor Day weekend. I wanted more interesting shutters, an upgraded porch, an enclosed fence with two gates as well as 4 bathrooms in the midst of the rest of the house being done. Mike built columns that were half stone and put in a stained wood ceiling on the porch. He also built custom shutters which added interest and balance to the front of the house.
Mike got everything done by the deadline! He was awesome! I would highly recommend him for any construction project. I know I'll call him when I'm ready to finish the basement and my patio!
